How to get involved on a college campus and make the most of your experience?

Western New England University (WNE) has a variety of clubs that you can join! There are a variety of clubs ranging from clubs for specific degrees such as the Business Club, to clubs for hobbies such as the Hiking Club. WNE also has a lot of campus activities throughout the year which are open to anyone on the campus to come and participate. There are multicultural events such as The World Fest where there is food and performances from all over the world. There are also a lot of fun events like glow in the dark mini golf and laser tag! These are some of the best ways to make friends and connections on campus, everyone is included in each and every event. The best part about most of these events is the opportunity to win numerous prizes such as AirPods and smart TVs.

Location, location, location – how does a suburban college environment work for me?

Being in a suburban environment has been easy going and full of fun and excitement. Western New England University is located in Wilbraham, Massachusetts, and is only a 20-minute drive from downtown Springfield. Wilbraham is a nice and safe town with a lot of fun and family/friend-based activities to do. There is a lot of open land and space to go for hiking trips and outdoor-based activities. In the winter, a lot of the hills become places for families and friends to go down sledding and snow tubing. Springfield  is known as the birthplace of basketball, and you can visit the renowned basketball hall of fame. If you are a hockey fan, Springfield is home to the The Springfield Thunderbirds. The location where WNE is located is within a five minutes walking distance of a plaza where there are a number of restaurants, dollar stores, grocery stores, and gas stations.

How to find a job on campus?

The easiest way to find a job on campus is to look on the Cornerstone app. Also, Western New England University has a partnership with Handshake, which is a job platform. So students will be able to find on-campus jobs as well as off-campus jobs with ease. Another way to find jobs on campus is to attend the job fair that is held at the start of every semester. Different departments on campus will set up stalls around campus for the job fair and will take resumes on site.
