Where Can I Study English in Seattle, Washington?

Seattle, Washington is a vibrant city located in the Pacific Northwest. Seattle hosts a wide range of industries such as medicine, technology, engineering, education, and theater. Seattle is home to many booming companies such as, Amazon, Microsoft, Boeing, Starbucks, and more! It’s no wonder that Seattle is an appealing city to international students for learning English. Below are five highlighted schools where you can study in English in Seattle, Washington.
North Seattle College
North Seattle College (NSC) is located just 15 minutes from downtown Seattle. They are a fully accredited two-year college and offer a six-level ESL program, so no matter what proficiency of English you are at you will be able to progress. The ESL program focuses on grammar, reading, listening, writing, pronunciation, beginning computer literacy and workplace skills. They also offer ESL for medical terminology for students interested in medical careers.
Seattle Central College
Seattle Central College (SCC) is located in the heart of Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood which it is known for its excellent food and music scene. SCC’s Institute of English offer three programs: Intensive English, Advanced English, and College Bridge Program. All of the ESL programs are focused on helping students learn English to prepare them for an education at an American college or university. SCC also provides international students assistance with transferring to four-year universities.
South Seattle College
South Seattle College’s Intensive English Program (IEP) helps international students prepare for college level English and degree programs. No TOEFL score is required for entrance into the IEP. The IEP offers five levels and a total of 20 hours of instruction per week. Classes focus on preparing students for college level English. International students are able to earn college-level credit once they’ve reached the fifth level of English instruction.
University of Washington
The University of Washington is located in the University District of Seattle which is 10 minutes from downtown Seattle. The Intensive English Program (IEP) offers three different tracks of study: University Track, Business Track, and, Communication and Culture Track. Each track focuses on improving international student’s English to reach their individual goals whether that’s admission to the university or improving your English for professional purposes.
