Finding the money to attend college or university can be quite a struggle, especially for international students. That’s why it is by far one of the most popular questions on StudyUSA.com: where can I find scholarships for international students? We will be answering that popular question every week by posting schools that offer scholarships to international students.

Western Illinois University ELI

Western Illinois University has many scholarship opportunities for international students. They have general scholarships available to all eligible students and international student specific scholarships as well. The Western Illinois University International Commitment Scholarship is only available to international students and is offered fall and spring semester for up to $3,000. There are also opportunities for incoming freshman, graduate students, current students, and transfer students. Resources and information are provided about private scholarships that are available. Southern Illinois University at Carbondale

Southern Illinois University at Carbondale offers scholarships to international students who are incoming freshman, transfer students, and/or current students. Incoming freshman are eligible for the Dean’s Scholarship and two competitive scholarships: the Chancellor’s Scholarship and University Excellence Scholarship. The university also offers students access to the Online Scholarship Opportunity Manager that allows students to search through their database of outside scholarship opportunities from around the world. Illinois State University

Illinois State University (ISU) offers scholarships to international undergraduate students, graduate students, and transfer students. Undergraduate students are eligible for the Presidential Scholarship, University Scholarship and Redbird Academic Scholarship. Transfer students are eligible for the Transfer Student Scholarship. Graduate students are able to apply for assistantships and graduate teaching assistantships. In addition, ISU offers assistance to international students seeking employment on campus and off campus. Danville Area Community College

Danville Area Community College (DACC) offers international students resources and support for finding scholarships. Danville Area Community College Foundation office provides students resources for applying for scholarships offered through the foundation. College of Lake County

College of Lake County’s Center for International Education offers four different scholarships for international students. They offer the Infantino-Percake Family Memorial Scholarship, Richard and Annette Galla Scholarship, Jim Reinemann Memorial Scholarship, and the Susan Smith International Student Scholarship. Each scholarship has a different award and deadline. In addition to the four different scholarships, the Center for International Education provides outside resources to students to search for more scholarship opportunities.
