Financial Requirements

When planning to study abroad, you’ll need to consider the cost of living and tuition.

For most schools, once you’ve received your acceptance letter, you’ll be required to send documents showing proof of finances. You do not pay at the time of sending documents to the school.

Why do Advisors ask if I can pay for school?

They’ll want to know that as an international student, you can afford to study abroad. You simply upload financial documents showing you can pay for your first year of school. You do not need to pay at the time of submitting your proof of financial capability.

USA: I-20 requirement

Once you have been accepted to a school, you will be required to send documents showing your proof of financial ability to pay for the first year. An I-20 document states you are eligible to study in the United States. It is a document that you will need before you can apply for an F1-Visa.
 

What financial documents can I show the school?

Some students show documents from sponsors, parents or personal bank statements. If you are getting a loan, you can show the loan agreement and approval, show an investment document, or if you’re getting sponsored, show the sponsor letter. At the time of sending the statement(s), you do not pay the tuition and cost of living expenses.

 

Here’s an example from a school requiring $30,372.00. This will be the total proof of finances

• Books and health insurance
