Why Simmons?

Simmons College offers a dynamic university experience to 1,700 undergraduate women in Boston, Massachusetts - America’s best college town.

Founded in 1899 on the revolutionary idea that women should be able to earn independent livelihoods and lead meaningful lives, Simmons continues to pair the liberal arts with professional work experience in all of its 60+ undergraduate degree programs.

With access to competitive internships, research opportunities, and one-to-one advising and career counseling, over 86% of our students secure employment or begin graduate school within one year of graduation.

At Simmons, leaders are not born or made. Here, leaders make themselves.

Nationally Ranked Academics at Simmons

Simmons offers four-year bachelor degrees in addition to several 3+1 bachelor’s and master’s degree programs, a 4+1 BS and MS in Nursing, and a 6-year BS in Exercise Science and Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Pre-law and pre-medicine advising programs prepare students to pursue graduate degrees in law, dentistry, medicine, optometry, podiatry, or veterinary medicine.

In 2015, USA Today ranked Simmons College among the top 10 places to get a nursing degree in the US.

With a 10:1 student:faculty ratio and an average class size of 19 students, students at Simmons are actively engaged in their academic experiences. 100% of students supplement the classroom experience with independent learning outside the classroom.

Whether they hold an internship in Boston, conduct research with faculty, or create an independent study, students begin networking in their field and building their professional resumes as undergraduates.

These groups include Organización Latino Americana, Black Student Organization, Simmons Islamic Society, Asian Student Association, Hillel, Model United Nations, and Sexuality Women and Gender.
