The English Institute for International Students provides academic English programs for students wanting to start their degree program at TU.

  • All classes taught in TU facilities.
  • Conditional admission for undergraduate and graduate degrees.
  • Two EIIS programs available:  the Intensive English Program (IEP) and the Pathway to Academics Program.


  • 5-level program
  • Test given to determine placement level
  • Listening/Speaking, Structure, Reading, & Writing classes at each level
  • Beginning through advanced language proficiency accepted
  • No minimum TOEFL required
  • 8-week sessions
  • Convenient start dates in August, October, January, March, and May
  • Classes held Monday-Friday (23 hours/week)
  • Cultural enrichment trips and seminars each Friday
  • Conditionally admitted IEP students who successfully complete Level 5 automatically matriculate to academic classes
