Intensive English Program (IEP)

Suffolk’s Intensive English Program (IEP) has helped many students achieve their goals. The program is ideal for second-language learners who are preparing for college or for those wishing to increase their career options.

The IEP program lasts 12 weeks for the fall and spring semesters. Students attend class for 18 hours per week and are required to do an online lab for an additional two hours per week.

Three levels of instruction are offered: beginner, intermediate and advanced. All levels provide balanced instruction and active practice in all of the skill areas: comprehension, speaking (including pronunciation), grammar, reading and writing.

F-1 students who complete the Intensive English Program can continue their education and earn an associate degree.
