The University of North Alabama (UNA) traces its roots to 1830 and LaGrange College, the first state-chartered college in Alabama. Today UNA is a thriving, modern institution of over 8,000+ students and one live lion, our beloved mascot Leo. International students from 45+ countries are represented in the student body. Located in beautiful, safe Florence, Alabama, UNA offers fully-accredited, high-quality instruction from full-time, professional faculty in small classes, giving students the personal connection and encouragement to achieve great things. International students can get the American college experience on our traditional residential, garden-style campus as a part of an active student body with Division I athletic teams and caring faculty and staff. Academics
UNA offers bachelor's, master's, and Ph.D. programs in more than 140 areas of study. Our most popular majors include:
Undergraduate: Accounting, Finance, Management, Marketing, Computer Science, Information Technology, Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, Entertainment Industry, Psychology, Engineering Technology, Industrial Hygiene.
Graduate: MBA, Accountancy, Health and Human Performance, Geographic Information Systems, Professional Studies.
Costs and Scholarships
As a public institution, UNA offers an excellent education at an affordable cost, since 95% of international students receive scholarships at the time of admission.
Full-price undergraduate tuition and fees equal approximately $10,500 per semester ($21,000 per academic year). New undergraduate students are eligible for $4,000 per semester, which is a savings of 40%! In their second year of study, the scholarship amount can increase to $5,000 per semester with qualifying GPA. Costs are based on 15 credit hours per semester (30 credit hours per academic year).
Full-price graduate tuition and fees equal approximately $7,230 per semester ($14,460 per academic year). New graduate students are eligible for $2,500 per semester, which is a savings of $35%! In their second year of study, the scholarship amount can increase to $3,500 per semester with qualifying academic performance. Costs are based on 9 credit hours per semester (18 credit hours per academic year).
In addition, international students are eligible for a 12-month housing scholarship valued at $4,400. Students can choose double occupancy in Rice Hall and have completely FREE housing, or apply the value to other university residences for a deep discount.
