University of North Alabama (UNA) is a big university by international standards, and that was an important factor in the decision-making process for Sameer, Jennifer, Yuhi, Abylay, and Awele. All of them are international students from different countries, and each of them chose UNA for different reasons.
Sameer is from Israel, Jennifer is from Belgium, Yuhi is from Japan, and Abylay is from Kazakhstan. Finally, Awele is from Nigeria.
All four of these students found that the campus size was small by American standards but manageable. They were also drawn to the diverse American culture, as well as the many international programs offered at UNA, such as study abroad opportunities and exchanges with universities in other countries. Upon arrival, all four of these students found that everyone at UNA was very helpful in adjusting to their new environment.

However, one of my least favorite experiences was the fact that there are more assignments than classes at the University of Alabama. While this may seem like a negative aspect at first, it actually offers more interesting, fun, and active classes that make learning more exciting for international students. Overall, attending university in Alabama was an amazing experience for these individuals, and they would definitely recommend doing so to others looking for an affordable education with great facilities.

When you first arrive in Florence, the people will greet you with a warm smile and a welcoming attitude. It's amazing how friendly everyone is in this city – it's almost as if they are happy to have you here! And the friendliness doesn't stop at the locals – even the teachers at Southern Hospital were very kind and accommodating. The American diet is not as good; however there was plenty of help available to make the transition easier. One small difficulty that arose at the airport was quickly resolved with assistance from International Office. Overall, everything went smoothly and everyone involved was helpful and informative throughout the entire process.
