Eastern Washington University Overview

Eastern Washington University (EWU) is a comprehensive public university located in Cheney, Washington, USA. Since its beginnings in 1882, EWU has become a driving force for the culture, economy, and vitality of the United States of America’s Inland Northwest region. EWU serves nearly 13,000 students and offers more than 135 fields of study, 55 graduate programs and one applied doctorate via four academic colleges. Student-Centered Approach to Academics

The highest priority for EWU faculty is to share their education and experience with students, guiding them through challenging courses and helping them prepare for successful professional careers. Students learn critical thinking skills through hands-on, discovery-based learning in our classrooms and labs and by working directly with faculty. Our students have access to a multitude of technology resources from state-of-the-art computer labs, to multimedia facilities, to a free Wi-Fi campus wide network. EWU’s annual Undergraduate Research Symposium is the largest academic event at EWU and features hundreds of student and faculty presentations.

Living on Campus

EWU is a residential campus, with thousands of students living in campus dormitories. EWU’s Global Living Learning Community (LLC) is an ideal community for international and domestic students to explore global issues, including culture, business, language, and current events. International students are encouraged to share their customs, food, and language in this safe, welcoming environment.
