NSU boasts one of the most beautiful campuses in the Midwest. Historic buildings blend with modern facilities, all centered around a park-like campus green. The campus is within walking distance of downtown Aberdeen, so students can easily explore the community of about 30,000 people. Aberdeen is growing, but still manages to keep a safe, small-community atmosphere.

NSU currently offers approximately 50 majors, six associate degree programs, more than 20 certificate programs, more than 50 minors, 16 pre-professional programs and nine master's degree programs. More than 80 percent of students receive some form of financial aid.

The Millicent Atkins School of Education at Northern State University builds on Northern’s rich history as a teaching college to develop the next generation of caring, innovative teachers. School of Fine Arts

The Northern State University School of Fine Arts is the largest collaborative arts program of its kind in the region, encompassing art, music and theater.
