Why did you decide to study in the USA

Because it has the best industrial engineering programs in the world.

Why did you choose College of DuPage?

I chose to study at College of DuPage to be the first step of my higher education because I have relatives who live near the college, the college reputation in the Midwest, and its good relationships with the known four-year schools in the area.

What do you like best about the college?

I like the great engineering program as well as the nice campus of the college.

What do you miss most about home?

I miss the food, family and friends.

What was your biggest surprise about U.S. life and education?

How well-organized the system of jobs and schools are.

... your biggest disappointment?

The cold weather of Chicago. 

How have you handled:
... language differences?

In the beginning, I found it really difficult to speak English. But, after I immersed myself in activities with my colleagues and got a job at the college, my spoken English improved significantly. 

... finances?

As I’ve been living here for two years, I became financially independent, which helped me to develop a financially-aware mindset.  

... adjusting to a different educational system?

I handled this by asking my professors and friends anything that I did not know.

What are your activities? 

I am involved in many activities at the college. I am a member of the Engineering and Technology Club. In addition, I often play soccer with my friends. 

How easy or difficult is making friends in the USA?

It’s really easy to make friends here. Actually, international students have the opportunity to connect with people from different cultures and backgrounds.

What are your career goals? How is your U.S. education relevant to your personal goals?

My career goal is to be an ultra-successful engineer. I think my education in the U.S. will not only help me achieve that, but it will also improve my technical and management skills.

What is your advice to other students from your country who are considering a U.S. education?

Studying in the U.S. is not easy as it requires putting a lot of effort towards your school and personal life. However, IT IS DEFINITELY WORTH IT!!
