Deputy Under Secretary for International Trade Diane Farrell presented the President’s “E” award for export service to Phil Hull, Ph.D., director of international student services, and Emily de Melo, assistant director & PDSO of international student services at UCM. The ceremony was held at the U.S. Department of Commerce in Washington, D.C. on May 14.
"The University of Central Missouri has made tremendous strides towards the increase in internationalization of higher education in the state of Missouri," said Pinki Thakker, acting Global Education Team leader, U.S. Commercial Service in Kansas City. Phil Hull, Ph.D., director of international student services, and Emily de Melo, assistant director & PDSO of international student services, proudly represented UCM’s Office of International Student Services (ISS) at the ceremony.

- Fall Semester: June 1 for all programs (UG/GR)
- Spring Semester: September 1 for MS CS, CIS, BDA, Tech, and Industrial Mgmt; Oct 1 for all other programs (UG and GR)
- Summer Semester: February 1 for MS CS, CIS, BDA, Tech, and Industrial Mgmt; March 1 for all other programs (UG and GR)
Scholarship Opportunities:
- First-Time International Undergraduate Award: $1000 first semester at UCM (non-renewable)
- Global Partner Scholarship: For students coming from UCM partner high schools and colleges - 50% tuition discount (renewable)
- Transfer Scholarships: For UG transfer students with 24+ credit hours and 3.00+ GPA (renewable)
- Graduate Assistantships: Available for graduate students, providing tuition assistance and a stipend.
- Departmental Scholarships: Various departments offer scholarships based on academic achievement and specific criteria.
