History
EC-Council University (ECCU) was founded in 2003 by Jay Bavisi; the Chairperson of the Board. In 2006, it got licensed by the New Mexico Higher Education Department. The university is headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This educational institute is dedicated to reducing the increasing cybersecurity skills gap by producing efficient information security professionals.
ECCU firmly believes that security professionals should not limit their learnings to gaining technical skills only, but must also be educated and trained to step into managerial and executive roles in their organizations. The same belief laid the foundation of the Master of Science in Cyber Security program and the Bachelor of Science in Cyber Security program.

The Bachelor of Science in Cyber Security program prepares students to obtain knowledge for careers in cybersecurity and assurance. The cyber security program consists of topical areas dealing with cybersecurity management, incident response, and security threat assessment, which requires students to be creators of knowledge and inventors of processes, not merely users of information. Additionally, students will receive instruction in leadership and management in preparation for becoming managers and directors.
