Longwood offers over 100 undergraduate majors, minors, and concentrations across three main academic colleges, and numerous graduate programs in the College of Graduate and Professional Studies.
In the AACSB accredited College of Business and Economics (CBE), students will receive a world-class education. Additionally, there are five centers in the CBE that add to the richness of the educational experience: the Center for Cyber Security, the Center for Financial Responsibility, the Logistics Center, the McGaughy Internship & Professional Development Center, and the SNVC Leadership Institute.
High achieving business students will be invited to join the Beta Gamma Sigma, the national honor society for business and economics majors. Each year numerous international students receive invitations.
As the largest college at Longwood, the Cook-Cole College of Arts & Sciences assists students in becoming educated citizens who demonstrate creativity, critical thinking, and resiliency in addressing the issues of a diverse and interdependent world. Pre-Med, Environmental Sciences, Computer Science, 3+2 Dual-Engineering, Political Science, Graphics and Animation Design, and Digital Media are among the major choices. International students can participate in important research projects related to cancer treatments, climate change, criminal justice, and media, to name a few.
In the College of Education and Human Services, students can major in any of a range of education and human service fields like counseling, kinesiology, social work, therapeutic recreation, and more. All undergraduate programs include significant field experience – providing hands-on opportunities to apply knowledge.
Grants and scholarships at Longwood
Longwood received more than $1.2 million in grants from the National Science Foundation to fund innovative programs for the STEM fields.
Qualified international students can receive up to $4,000 in renewable merit-based scholarships. Over 68% of international students receive merit-based scholarships from Longwood each year.
Eligible students are invited to apply for the Honors College at Longwood and receive up to $10,000 in renewable Honors scholarships. More than 5% of international students get invitations to apply to the Honors College each year.
Dedicated support services for international students at Longwood
Is TOEFL or IELTS too low? Don’t worry, Longwood offers the English Language Bridge Program (EBP). You’ll be enrolled as a first-semester freshman taking a mix of academic courses and academic English support courses. English Bridge credits count towards your degree. EBP students will also receive mentoring and tutoring through their first year.
