The English Language Center
This program consists of seven levels, from beginner to advanced. Each level is divided into four courses: Listening/Speaking, Writing, Reading/Discussion, Grammar/Idioms. ELP prepares students to enter university or college in the U.S., as well as helping students who want to improve their English for personal or professional reasons. Students can choose intensive or part-time study, depending on their visa status.

English Language Program (ELP)

Students can choose intensive or part-time study, depending on their visa status.
Academic English Program (AEP)
This program is designed for students who already hold a bachelor’s degree are preparing for admission to a Master’s or Ph.D. program. AEP has four levels: low-intermediate, intermediate, high-intermediate, and advanced. The core AEP courses are Academic Writing, Grammar, Listening/Speaking, and Reading/Discussion.
International Academy (Language Plus)
International Academy is a short-term program designed for university-level students to improve their English and experience life at The University of Texas at Austin. Typically we hold 2-week sessions in the winter and 4-week sessions in the summer. Participants study oral and written communication along with discipline-related coursework. Standard academic tracks offered are accounting, engineering, software engineering, and western language and culture. Additional tracks may be offered and vary by semester. International Academy exposes international students to university research, resources, labs, and facilities through a curriculum that focuses on hands-on, problem-solving, and application. Outside of class time, students attend related educational excursions, cultural activities, and tours in Texas.

★★ 5-week session for AEP only; this is an intensive session designed for graduate and undergraduate students admitted to a degree program at UT or another U.S. university for the upcoming fall semester. Classes in Listening/Speaking and Reading/Writing meet Mon - Fri, 9:00am-1:00pm.
Faculty:
All of the English Language Centers' instructors have graduate degrees, speak at least one foreign language and have taught, traveled, or lived outside the U.S.. Every instructor has experience working in international education, with many boasting more than 20 years of experience.
