Portland Community College (PCC) is a multi-campus, two-year college serving over 700 international students from 70 countries worldwide. PCC offers an outstanding ESOL Program (English for Speakers of Other Languages) as well as 100+ academic and technical programs.
At PCC, you can earn an Associate of Arts (AA) Degree or an Associate of Science (AS) Degree, and then transfer to a four-year institution to complete your Bachelor’s Degree. Or, you can get language or vocational training in our short-term, 1-year, or 2-year programs.
Portland, Oregon is one of the friendliest, most livable cities in the United States! PCC has four gorgeous campuses located throughout the city of Portland, close to both the mountains and the coast, as well as world-class restaurants, coffee shops, and microbreweries.
ESOL Program:
PCC offers credit ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) courses on all four of its campuses. The ESOL program has eight levels of English language instruction, from level one, for beginners, through level 8, for students who are preparing to enroll in college-level coursework.
English proficiency is NOT required for admission to PCC, but you may be exempted from the ESOL placement testing if you are able to show proof of English proficiency (e.g. TOEFL/IELTS scores).
Study Options:
Pursue a degree in the business administration, computer science, engineering, health sciences, or aviation, among others. At PCC, you’ll find a program that fits your passions, your time, and your budget.

University Transfer:
At PCC, you can earn a two-year Associate of Arts (AA) or Associate of Science (AS) Degree, and then transfer to a four-year university to complete your Bachelor’s Degree.
PCC course credits can also transfer to universities across the USA. PCC’s Office of International Student Services can assist with educational planning to ensure an easier transfer.
HOW TO APPLY TO PCC:
- Submit the PCC International Admissions Application
- Pay $50 USD nonrefundable application fee
- Send all required documents (www.pcc.edu/international-students/admissions/), including proof of English proficiency to be exempted from ESOL placement testing. (Note: No TOEFL / IELTS scores are required for admission.)
