- Florida Institute of Technology today is a comprehensive, research-intensive national university offering more than 200 bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degree programs, as well as associate and certificate programs that prepare students for careers of the future.
- As Florida’s STEM University™ and headquarters of the Florida Academy of Sciences, Florida Tech’s approach to academics is research-driven, high-tech, and hands-on, allowing our students to both gain knowledge and get real experience in applying it. Here, you don’t just learn—you do.
- Florida Tech comprises four distinct academic colleges, each with a strong focus, as well as an interdisciplinary honors college.
- Whether taught online or at one of our many sites throughout the U.S., all of Florida Tech’s academic degrees meet or exceed the rigorous requirements of regional accreditation. Choose the learning option that works best for you.
- There are 289 full-time and 104 part-time faculty at the Melbourne campus. 92% of full-time teaching faculty have a Ph.D. or other terminal degree appropriate to their field.

Location
Located on 130 subtropical acres in the City of Melbourne on Florida's "Space Coast," Florida Tech’s campus includes various academic, athletic, residential, dining, recreational, performance, administrative, and multi-use facilities. It is an Arbor Day Foundation designated "Tree Campus USA."
The Florida Tech campus sits about two miles from downtown Melbourne, two miles from Orlando-Melbourne International Airport, six miles from the nearest beach, 45 miles to NASA—Kennedy Space Center, and 75 miles to the Orlando area. Melbourne has the 5th most concentrated high-tech workforce in the United States.
