ACADEMICS

Vail Christian High School is recognized as a distinguished college prep school with 15 AP courses offered. All students participate in the AP program, averaging 8 AP courses in their high school years. Many are awarded the prestigious AP Scholar designation. Dual Enrollment (DE) courses are offered through Colorado Chrisitan University and University of Colorado - Colorado Springs. Our program is rich in academic rigor and requires that all students who participate are proficient in English.

PROJECT LEAD THE WAY SCHOOL

United around a passion for providing students with inspiring, engaging, and empowering learning opportunities in STEM education and careers, VCHS is proud to be a Project Lead the Way (PLTW) school. PLTW courses in Engineering, Biomedical and Computer Science complement their AP counterparts with more experiential, hands-on and transformative learning experiences. The HIVE, home of innovation, validation and excellence, provides a creative place and cutting edge equipment that allows students to collaborate, create and learn in new exciting ways.

COLLEGE COUNSELING 

College counseling begins as soon as a student enters our school.  With a full-time, dedicated college counselor, SAT and ACT prep,  and a customized plan for each student, VCHS positions students for acceptance into the most prestigious U.S. colleges and universities. In 2021 VCHS students were awarded $3.7 million in merit scholarships with all acceptances. Our goal is to help guide students to reach their future goals and achieve their highest academic potential. 

STUDENT EXPERIENCE AND ACTIVITIES

International students are fully integrated into life as an American high school student through our small class sizes, strong sense of camaraderie between students, classes centered on discussion and participation, and after-school activities and athletics. We seek to foster a school culture in which love is primary and respect and understanding for others’ backgrounds and experiences is non-negotiable. 

 VCHS also offers unique opportunities through our Visual Arts Department, Media Production, Dance Studio, AP Art Studio, Worship Arts, Choral Ensemble and spectacular theater productions from our performing arts department. Our theater director also serves as our choral director with a long history of students entering the state vocal competition. 

Inside the Thomas Morgan Wheeler Arts and Athletics Center sits the valley’s best gym for volleyball and basketball where Saints pride comes to life! Students are actively engaged in football, golf, dance, volleyball, tennis, basketball, soccer, skiing, mountain biking and track and field, along with many other athletic activities available throughout our mountain community.

HOMESTAY 

International students are supported in every way including living with a host family. We value the entire experience of our international students, not just the academic school day. Students are placed in loving, supportive, Christian homes and become a member of the family. Host families must have a student currently enrolled in VCHS so they can help international students smoothly transition into life as a SAINT, introduce them to friends and allow for a positive experience at VCHS in every way possible!
