Whether you are interested in studying English as a second language through our ESL Academy, urban design, business, engineering, pre-med, pharmacy, or a degree you have customized from one of the university’s 130+ undergraduate or graduate degree choices, your educational experience will be supported through outstanding student services.

With origins dating back to 1883, CU Denver was formally established as a stand-alone campus in 1974. Following a 2004 consolidation with the CU Anschutz Medical Campus, the combined University of Colorado Denver │ Anschutz Medical Campus now educates nearly 18,000 students in 13 schools and colleges, pursuing over 130 degree programs at the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels. The growth opportunities that over 110,000 of our alumni pursued in our classrooms, laboratories and libraries may soon be available to you!

Requirements for Admissions

To apply for admission to the university, you will need to…

  • Complete the online application.
  • Pay a $75 application fee.
  • Upload and submit copies of all academic records, degree certificates (with certified translations if the original document is not in English), recommendation letters, and personal statement.
  • Submit satisfactory TOEFL or IELTS score. Or complete the ESL Academy
  • SAT scores are required for admission as a freshman into any Engineering program.
  • GMAT or GRE scores may be required for some graduate programs, please consult the department directly.

ESL Academy

Students with limited English proficiency have the option of studying at the ESL Academy, which not only develops your academic language skills, it also supports your success as a University of Colorado Denver student. Successful completion satisfies the university’s English language requirement for admission. Class offering include grammar, reading, writing, listening, speaking, and content-based instruction with research and presentation skills. Admission is selective and requires an in-person or online interview.

International College Beijing, China
(University of Colorado Denver program in Beijing, China)

The International College Beijing (ICB) is a joint education program between the University of Colorado Denver (CU Denver) in Denver, Colorado, USA, and China Agricultural University (CAU) in Beijing, People’s Republic of China. The first partnership of its kind approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education, ICB is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools in the U.S. Chinese students can study on either the Denver Campus or Beijing Campus, with a choice of bachelor’s degrees in communications, economics, or a dual degree.
