Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU) is located in Chicago, the third largest city in the US, which is located on beautiful Lake Michigan. A public university founded in 1867, NEIU offers more than 90 bachelor's and master’s degrees, including an AACSB-accredited MBA that is STEM-certified and well-connected to Chicago’s thriving business sector.

NEIU is a welcoming and inclusive environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors from all walks of life. The Main Campus offers many amenities to its community, including a library, computer labs, fitness complex, student center and cafe options. With several outdoor spaces, including walking paths and picnic areas, students can study or relax and enjoy the views.

NEIU’s Office of International Programs (OIP) offers the following services to international students:

NEIU’s Intensive English Language Program, called SAELL, holistically develops the English proficiency of students whose first language is other than English.  SAELL runs a part-time online program and a full-time in-person program. Both are based on the Common European Framework Reference for Language (CEFR) and are open to undergraduates and graduate students. The TOEFL exam is administered in the course at no extra fee.
