Florida Institute of Technology (Florida Tech) is a private, coeducational, residential, research-intensive, doctoral-granting university located in the beautiful city of Melbourne on Florida’s sunny “Space Coast.” But who we are is so much more. We are a community of researchers, scholars and learners hailing from all around the world. We are engineers, aviators, innovators, leaders, educators, athletes and astronauts. Located on 130 subtropical acres in Melbourne on Florida's "Space Coast," Florida Tech’s campus includes various academic, athletic, residential, dining, recreational, performance, administrative and multiuse facilities. Florida Tech's beautiful campus is an Arbor Day Foundation-designated "Tree Campus USA."

The Florida Tech campus sits about 2 miles from downtown Melbourne, 2 miles from Melbourne-Orlando International Airport, 6 miles from the nearest beach, 45 miles from NASA-Kennedy Space Center and 75 miles from the Orlando area. The Milken Institute ranks the Palm Bay-Melbourne-Titusville, Florida, MSA the No. 10 best-performing tier one large city in the U.S., listing its high-tech industry growth (39% between 2016 and 2021, which is four times the national growth) and diversity, strong population increase and faster-than-average wage growth among its strengths.
