Abbey Road Summer Programs

Founded by Stanford alumni in 2000, Abbey Road’s study abroad summer programs continue to deliver excellence. Our mission is to provide quality academic summer programs for high school students that facilitate cross-cultural understanding, personal growth and academic enrichment.

Our Quebec City program is designed for students who are interested in exploring the French language and culture in an authentic immersive environment and enjoying a pre-college experience on a modern, comfortable college campus at the Université Laval in Québec City.

Our method puts a strong emphasis on active, communicative learning in real life situations, maximizing interaction with native speakers in authentic cultural contexts. We encourage all students to speak French with native speakers, our French staff members, young people from local athletic and cultural organizations.

As part of the pre-college experience, our students will live on the campus of the prestigious Université Laval, conveniently located a short distance from the historic center of Québec. The campus offers many modern amenities and athletic facilities. Students will be housed in single rooms with shared bathrooms and take their meals at the University cafeteria.

We differ from most other programs by our innovative, communicative teaching method, strong emphasis on personal attention to each student, and safety (very important). We have one staff member for 6-7 students. Most staff members are native French speakers who inspire our students to discover Québec of the locals, rather than that of mainstream tourists. The program fee includes three meals a day, all lodging, classes, activities, excursions and day trips.
