The campus is located in Davis, California, a beautiful and vibrant town with a rich culture and progressive community. Students make up nearly half of the population of Davis and enjoy more than 80 km of bicycle paths, open space and student-friendly businesses. The “bicycle capital of the United States,” Davis is a diverse, dynamic and welcoming environment. The campus itself is more than 2,100 acres, including the experimental agriculture plots, state-of-the-art research facilities, working vineyards, performing arts center, residence halls and a 40 hectare Arboretum.

STUDENT LIFE

Housing: Participants have three housing options while in Davis: homestay, renting a room in an apartment or private house, or on-campus dormitory (summers only). The Center for International Education Housing office can assist both individual students and groups in locating suitable housing.

Transportation: Most students use bicycles to get around on campus and in town due to the convenient and safe bike paths found throughout the area. Unitrans, the University bus system, is also available on campus and for travel between your home and campus.

Leisure: Optional weekend trips may include Yosemite National Park, Napa Valley, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Recreational, cultural and social activities with UC Davis student leaders are offered daily.
