The University of Mississippi is passionate about supporting its international student community. Study abroad students can apply for scholarships that are available to all students as well as scholarships dedicated specifically to international students.
Which scholarships are available to international students?
With so many international scholarship opportunities available, where should you begin? The University of Mississippi has scholarships for the general international student population and scholarships specifically for students in the Intensive English Program. Let’s take a look at both:
Intensive English Program scholarships
Refer-a-Friend Discount
If you’ve been enrolled in the International English Program (IEP) for at least one semester AND you bring a family member or friend to study as a full-time IEP student, you will receive $250 off tuition for Intensive English classes. Additionally, the friend or family member you invite will also receive $250 off tuition for their first session.
Alumni Referral Discount
If you were referred to the IEP by a family member or friend who has graduated from the IEP, you will receive $250 off tuition for Intensive English (IE) classes during your first session.
Materials Scholarship
If awarded this scholarship, you will receive a scholarship valued at $250 to be applied to your “tuition and materials” balance, which will cover the cost of all textbooks for a semester.
The Brenda Hales Honorary Tuition Reduction Scholarship
In honor of the teaching career of Brenda Hales, a former IEP instructor, the IEP offers a 20% tuition-only scholarship to prospective and current IEP students. There are up to four tuition-reduction scholarships available each semester. Receive 20% off tuition each semester you’re enrolled in the IEP!
The Jonatas Lima Memorial Scholarship
The largest scholarship that the IEP at Ole Miss offers, the Jonatas Lima Memorial Scholarship provides funding for one student, fully covering tuition and fees for up to two semesters.
