Today, the area covered by the IT industry continuously expands and even spans across other industries such as healthcare, legal, and accounting. To penetrate the IT jobs market, you need to have an IT-related degree. Below is a list of possible jobs in the industry.

  1. Software Engineer

People usually confuse a software engineer with programmer, but the two are actually different and not interchangeable. Software engineers or software developers design and develop software solutions based on the needs and requirements of the clients. In short, they are the ones designing that which the programmers run. They are also the ones deploying and maintaining the software or system solutions once it goes live.

  1. Programmer

Programming is only an aspect of software engineering. Programmers are the ones who write codes based on the instructions and directions of software engineers. There are different programming languages used by the programmers such as Javascript, Ruby on Rails, and Python, and those who are adept in more languages have a strong competitive edge.

  1. Web Developer

Also often confused with software developer and programmer, web developers also have unique responsibilities. Basically, web developers build websites or improve existing ones. They are the ones who make sure that the features are well-implemented and running smoothly. They use programming codes such as Javascript, HTML5, and others.

  1. Systems Analyst

Systems analysts are the go-to persons whenever clients, businesses, or individuals encounter a complicated computer failure. They solve technical problems and errors, and they recommend what software and systems are suitable to the needs of the business organizations.

  1. Database Administrator

Every business or organization has numerous stored data including client details, customer records, and financial information. It is very important that the data is accessible and easily available to users. They are also in charge of making sure that the date is secure from external threats and unauthorized access.

  1. Security Administrator

Security administrators oversee the network connections of an organization. They ensure that your systems and networks are safe from all sorts of cyberattacks. They play a crucial part in an organization because they are the ones protecting all your computer and systems data through daily monitoring and maintenance and setting up of internal procedures.

  1. Mobile App Developer

Almost everyone, regardless of social class or status, has a smart phone. More than texting and calling, mobile phones are used for different purposes such as business, entertainment, and gaming. Mobile app developers are those responsible in creating these programs. Repairing failures and upgrading are also a part of their roles.

  1. Health IT Specialist

The healthcare sector has started to heavily rely on technology, and this requires the skills and know-how of health IT specialists who streamline technological processes in the healthcare sector. They manage records in hospitals and clinics such as patient information, billing, and cancer registry.

  1. Computer Support Specialist

Computer support specialists or technical support specialists are the troubleshooters when problems in an IT environment arise. They assist clients whenever they have issues and questions regarding the products. Aside from being equipped with technical knowledge, as a client-facing role, computer support specialists should have excellent communication skills. If this is one of your weak spots, you can get help from essays.scholaradvisor.

  1. Technical Sales

Technical sales people may not have concrete technical skills since they are usually hands-off the products, they should still have a relevant background and strong understanding of how the businesses use the technology. Since they are selling software, hardware, network systems, and other IT products and services, it is important that they are IT enthusiasts.

IT is a rapidly growing industry, and pursuing an IT-related career is not only lucrative but also fulfilling. It is incredibly challenging, and it will require you to always innovate, but being able to be a part of the industry that constantly changes and improves ways of life brings its own rewards.
