“We are a diverse community college, we have many students from Asia, South America, Europe — we embrace everybody.”
For Angel, that diversity makes Mission feel like more than just a campus — it’s a global community where everyone belongs.
Why He Chose Mission
Angel first began his studies in New York City, but he wanted to explore a new environment.
“I first studied in NYC, but I felt like I should try a different environment, and explore a different area. So I found Mission College.”
At first, he only planned to enroll in the Intensive English Program (IIS). But once he arrived, his perspective changed completely:
“At first I only wanted to study the Intensive English program, but I felt like this is a great school — like we have a peaceful environment, great people and a friendly community.”
Professors and Classmates Who Make Learning Fun
Angel says the classroom experience at Mission is what makes his studies even more enjoyable:
“My professors, they are funny and friendly, and for my classmates we are doing projects with my classmates and they are friendly and we are always like encouraging each other!”
It’s not just about academics — it’s about learning in a place where encouragement, laughter, and teamwork are part of the everyday experience.
