  • Location: St. Joseph’s Brooklyn Campus is at the center of one of the nation’s most diverse academic and cultural cities. With Manhattan just across the Brooklyn Bridge, students have access to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Madison Square Garden, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and more. 

  • Residential life: Housed in what was once the city’s largest hotel, the residence hall features a communal kitchen, study room, screening room, pool table, flat-screen TVs, membership to the premier 75,000-square-foot fitness center, and easy access to major subway and bus lines. 

  • Scholarships: Qualified first year international applicants can receive scholarships that range from $10,000 to $28,000 per year depending on their academic profile. Merit based scholarships are also offered to transfer students. Transfer awards generally range from $7,000 to $12,000. *Numerous other scholarships are available*

  • Programs: More than 50 undergraduate majors, pre-professional and certificate programs, with graduate degrees in management, business, cybersecurity, health care management, human services, nursing, accounting, and education. 22 different masters and advanced certificate programs for graduate students.

State University of New York Plattsburgh

SUNY Plattsburgh is an accredited institution founded in 1889. The campus is located 100 km south of Montreal, Canada and 500 km from New York City. Admission is competitive for both U.S. students and international students

  • Location: Located in Plattsburgh, NY, a small friendly city in northern New York, Plattsburgh is among the most beautiful and safest places in the United States. 

  • Scholarships for all: All accepted international applicants receive a partial scholarship covering up to 35% of the cost of attendance. 

  • Top programs: Business, accounting, global supply chain management, computer science, biochemistry, biomedical science, earth science, social sciences, and more!

Fashion Clothing

The Fashion Institute of Technology

Located in Chelsea, a vibrant neighborhood in the heart of New York City, FIT offers associate, bachelor, and graduate programs and is part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system.

  • Programs: The Fashion Institute of Technology offers two full-time intensive English as a Second Language programs. The Intensive English Language (IEL) program capitalizes on the cutting-edge reputation of Professional Studies for fashion-related career education and training. 

  • Features of IEL: Learn from faculty members with professional degrees in TESOL or Applied Linguistics, increase English proficiency, gain insight to American culture and exposure to New York City as a key fashion resource in the global marketplace. 

  • Extracurricular activities: There are occasional field trips on Fridays. In addition, students are offered the opportunity to take advantage of FIT’s resources including selected Hot Topics classes, guest speakers, the FIT Museum, Student Life activities and clubs, the fitness center, and more.

Stony Brook University Students

Stony Brook University

Stony Brook University is one of the top public research universities in the U.S. It is located on the scenic north shore of Long Island in a safe, suburban community not far from New York City. Stony Brook has additional campus locations in midtown Manhattan and at the east end of Long Island in Southampton.

  • Rankings: Stony Brook University is ranked at the Top 1% of universities in the world. 

  • Programs: Stony Brook offers 64 majors and 81 minors, Division 1 athletic programs, student clubs and organizations as well as world class facilities. The Intensive English Center (IEC) also provides four levels of instruction in academic English with 6-week and 15-week programs. 

  • Conditional admission: Students who successfully complete the advanced IEC level and are academically eligible for undergraduate admission do not have to take the TOEFL/IELTS exam. 

  • Activities: The IEC offers many social events and activities for students to improve their English including a graduation ceremony and field trips to New York City and Long Island landmarks. IEC students have access to all facilities and may participate in all events offered at Stony Brook University.

Herkimer College Students

Herkimer College

Part of the largest comprehensive public university system in the nation, Herkimer County Community College offers a premier two-year college experience offering associate degrees and one-year certificates, both on-campus and online. International graduates transfer to four-year public and private universities, while others find employment upon graduation.

  • Rankings: Ranked among The Top 100 Community Colleges in the U.S. for student success and has a nationally ranked two-year college athletic program. 

  • Great value: Reasonably priced tuition at $5,116 per year

  • Programs: Herkimer College offers more than 40 degree programs leading to Associate in Arts, Associates in Science, Associate in Applied Science degrees, and one-year certificates. The Internet Academy offers over 20 Associate Degree programs and three Certificate programs that can be completed entirely online. 

  • International Commit 2 Complete Program: The International Commit 2 Complete program at Herkimer College provides $1,000 for on-campus housing for students who pledge to complete their degree in two years or less.
