Fulfill Your Dreams of Studying in the U.S. with MET

Fulfill Your Dreams of Studying in the U.S. with MET

Jan 17, 2023

The Michigan English Test (MET) can help international students achieve their goals.

If your dream is to study at an institution of higher education in the United States, you will need to provide evidence that your proficiency in English meets the requirements for the university you are interested in. Start by reviewing the level of English that they require for international applicants. You will want to take an accepted English proficiency test that you feel comfortable with.

The Michigan English Test (MET) is a digital English proficiency exam developed by Michigan Language Assessment, a collaboration between the University of Michigan and Cambridge University Press & Assessment. MET is designed to meet your needs. Here are the main reasons why international students chose MET over other tests:

Remote and convenient

The MET can be scheduled at your convenience. You can take MET almost any day of the year and nearly anywhere in the world. It’s a remote offering at any one of our global network of Authorized Test Centers and available to be taken from home.

Fast results

Register for the MET by calling a local Authorized Test Center or making a reservation online for the at-home version. The registration process is quick and easy. You can be sitting for your exam in two days and receive your results within five.

Section retake

As an international student, you need a test that captures your true command of the English language. Demonstrate your best performance (and reduce stress) with MET’s section retake. All 4-skill test takers have the opportunity to retake either their Reading, Writing, or Listening section if they feel their preliminary results don’t accurately demonstrate their proficiency.

Internationally recognized

The MET is a high-quality, internationally recognized test. It was designed by language experts at Michigan Language Assessment and backed by two prestigious universities. The University of Michigan and Cambridge University Press & Assessment stand behind our score reports and certificates of proficiency.

Free sample tests

Looking for a test that you can easily prepare for? MET tasks reflect common classroom activities that you’re already familiar with from your English courses. Check out the activities and test format with our free sample tests available for download or in a digital format.

MET will save you time, money, and stress for the opportunity to pursue your dreams of studying abroad in the U.S. Visit MET’s website to learn more, and register for your exam today to take the next toward a brighter future.
