Don't confuse Yakima, Washington with that of Washington D.C., which is on the east coast of the United States. We are an easy drive to Seattle, Washington and Portland, Oregon.

If you are interested in studying Agriculture or Viticulture (growing grapes for wine), Yakima Valley is famous for the production of apples, pears, mint and hops, and also very well known for some of the finest wines and vineyards.

We boast a variety of recreational activities including snow skiing, snowboarding, camping, hiking, fishing, soccer and local professional sporting events of baseball, basketball and car racing. We experience four distinct seasons, with temperatures ranging from freezing with snow in winter to hot summers and beautiful springs and autumns.

Yakima Valley Community College offers a small, friendly International Student program. This means personal attention from the moment of application all the way through to transfer or graduation. You will be challenged to do your best and to succeed.

Housing

Yakima Valley Community College is one of the very few community colleges in Washington State which offers on-campus housing in a dormitory environment. The Student Residence Center offers affordable furnished rooms with utilities, security, recreation room, laundry facilities and study lounges.
