Students who begin in the Intensive Language Program (ILUNO) are not required to have a TOEFL score for admission to an undergraduate university program. UNO at a Glance
Intensive Language Program (ILUNO)Intensive English classes begin every two months and continue for eight weeks. Classes range in size from 8 to 16; most classes have 12 students. ILUNO offers six levels of classes, from elementary to advanced. Classes meet 21 hours per week. Students in the advanced levels choose from a wide variety of electives including Computer TOEFL Preparation, Public Speaking, American Culture, University Orientation, Critical Thinking Skills, Advanced Writing, Idioms and Slang, and Advanced Listening. Tuition, Insurance, and all fees for the program are $1879 USD for each 8-week session.
Many ILUNO students decide they later want to study at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Advantage Track UNO (A.T. UNO) is a program for ILUNO students who want to enter undergraduate majors at UNO without taking a TOEFL. The Bridge Program allows ILUNO students to enroll in undergraduate university-level courses while still studying in ILUNO. Admission Requirements for ILUNO
Professional Training for Global Business (IPD)International Professional Development (IPD) is a practical training program for professionals. IPD will help you learn about current business issues and practices, understand cultural issues impacting business, and teach you to communicate effectively in business settings.IPD has four 8-week sessions during the academic year (August to May). We also offer a summer session, mid-May to early July. All sessions include weekly corporate visits or business seminars, and optional audits of classes in the College of Business Administration. Classes include Business Reading (using Business Week magazine), Business Writing (covers all business writing skills), Effective Presentations (giving professional presentations), Cross-Cultural Communication, Business Management Practices, Global Business Communication and Listening & Pronunciation, and a weekly Discussion class with American students and professionals. You can expect to be in class or involved in activities about 30 hours per week. Class size is set at 8. A certificate is awarded upon successful completion of the session/program. Optional one-month internships may also be arranged. IPD trainees are from many countries, such as Japan, Korea, Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil, China, Lithuania, and Turkey. The average age is about 32. Trainees are from a variety of industries such as banking & finance, media/advertising, government, education, manufacturing, and public services.
