A quality educational experience

Excellent services for international students

The beautiful International Student Center is a place for students to have meetings and celebrations. The expert staff members are prepared to help students with questions concerning immigration, travel, work, and cultural adjustment. The English Language Program can accept students at any level of English ability. The ELP has an experienced faculty with advanced degrees and many years of teaching English to international students. There are 4-week, 8-week, and 15-week programs available. Undergraduate Admission

If you have a high enough grade point average (GPA), Kansas State University can admit you with no proof of English proficiency. Once you arrive, you will be required to take the English Proficiency Test (EPT). The results of the EPT will determine if you have to study full-time intensive English or part-time high-level English, or if you are ready to begin full-time university classes. Graduate Admission

Many departments offer conditional admission to students who meet the academic requirements but do not have a TOEFL or have a low TOEFL score. A variety of housing choices

There is always room for you in the residence hall (dormitory). You can choose dormitories that are all-male, all-female, or co-ed. Space is available all year for enrolled students, even during holidays and vacations. Most dormitories offer double rooms along with computer rooms, recreational space, and laundry facilities. The room rate includes three meals a day except for Sunday evenings. In the residence halls you can meet American friends, practice your English, and participate in parties and sports. You can also live in university apartments at the Jardine Apartment Complex. You can choose one-bedroom or two-bedroom units, with or without furniture. There are several play areas and open areas in Jardine for children. For more information, go to http://housing.k-state.edu

A friendly and safe community

Manhattan, a city of 50,000, is known for the friendliness of its people and its beautiful natural environment. Manhattan has a four-season climate, with wonderful, mild springs, hot summers, cool and colorful autumns, and cold winters with some snow. Manhattan has many public parks and tennis courts, a zoo, a regional shopping mall, international food stores, and public golf courses. Just a few miles from Manhattan is a major lake, Tuttle Creek Reservoir, where you can go swimming, sailing, or fishing.
